Garden Fete Blooms with Community Spirit
Under clear blue skies on Sunday, 9 November, the Clifford Craig Foundation’s Garden Fete welcomed hundreds of visitors to the stunning Wesleyan Garden for a day of beauty, generosity, and community connection. Hosted by garden owners Sally Bell and Jim Smith, the event showcased a spectacular spring display, with vibrant blossoms and manicured paths creating the perfect backdrop for this much-loved fundraiser.
The expansive garden is truly a labour of love. Sally dedicated an entire week to preparing the property, ensuring every corner was ready to delight guests. Her efforts paid off, as visitors strolled through the gates to enjoy the serene setting and celebrate the season in full bloom.
One of the day’s highlights was the ever-popular Cakes and Produce Stall, which sold out in record time thanks to strong support from attendees. Homemade treats and fresh local produce were snapped up quickly, reflecting the community’s enthusiasm for both the event and its purpose.
This event was proudly run by the Friends of Clifford Craig volunteers, who contributed countless hours of in-kind support to help raise funds for the Foundation’s local health programs. Their dedication behind the scenes ensured the day ran smoothly and successfully.
While final fundraising totals will be confirmed soon, early indications point to another strong outcome for the Clifford Craig Foundation. Every dollar raised helps advance healthcare and research across Northern Tasmania, making the Garden Fete more than just a beautiful day out - it’s a meaningful contribution to better health for our region.
