Welcoming Nigel as our North West representative

CEO Vanessa Cahoon welcoming Nigel Tapp to the Foundation.

Nigel Tapp brings energy, warmth and a deep commitment to community connection in his work with the Clifford Craig Health Foundation. Drawn to the Foundation’s mission to strengthen locally community funded health programs across medical research, patient care hospital-based projects and health advocacy, Nigel was compelled to offer his experience to the role of Community Relations Lead - North West.

Raised in Ulverstone and shaped by a career spanning Tasmania and mainland Australia, Nigel combines extensive communications expertise with a strong passion for place-based impact on the North West Coast.

With decades of experience across the not-for-profit, government and corporate sectors, Nigel is widely respected for his ability to build trusted relationships and translate complex issues into clear, engaging and meaningful communication. Throughout his career, Nigel has advised Federal and State politicians, CEOs, Mayors and senior leaders, led diverse and highly skilled communications teams, and worked alongside communities to ensure their voices are heard, understood and respected.

A consistent theme in Nigel’s professional journey has been genuine engagement. From leading communications strategies that helped guide communities through challenging and uncertain times, to strengthening member, stakeholder and industry connections, Nigel has always taken a values-driven, people-first approach. He is known for listening carefully, collaborating openly and creating communication that builds trust, confidence and shared purpose.

Nigel will be based at the North West Regional Hospital, providing a strong on-the-ground presence for the Foundation and helping strengthen connections with hospital staff, community partners and supporters across the region. His deep local knowledge, strong networks and authentic style enable him to connect easily with individuals, community groups and organisations throughout the North West Coast. For Nigel, effective community engagement relating to healthcare is not just about sharing information - it is about building relationships that lead to stronger, healthier communities.

Speaking about joining the Foundation, Nigel said:

“I am thrilled to join the Clifford Craig Health Foundation to establish a highly impactful presence on the North West Coast. Growing up in Ulverstone and having worked across Australia, there truly isn't any place like home and this very connected charity work is something I'm proud to support.”

Nigel’s experience, enthusiasm and deep community roots make him a valuable addition to the Clifford Craig Health Foundation team and a strong advocate for positive, lasting change across the North West Coast.
