The Endo Experience casting light on complex disease
Launceston women and male allies gathered at Country Club Tasmania to mark Women’s Health Week - focusing on the prevalence and complexities of endometriosis. Navigating the local health system was part of the event’s spotlight, featuring an expert panel of clinicians and Endometriosis Australia ambassador, Olivia Hicks. $4,000 was raised from the event, to be dedicated toward Clifford Craig Foundation’s women’s health medical research.
Panellists alongside Olivia Hicks were: Gynaecologist Dr Felicity Dukes, General Practitioner Emily Ingram and Pelvic Physiotherapist, Lisa Banfield. MC, Roisin McCann, guided the discussion across the time to be diagnosed, the cost to a women’s financial position and also the emotional and relational cost of endometriosis. Panellists offered suggestions to individuals and also business leaders seeking to support.
Registered Nurse, Hannah Moore, volunteered at the event as someone passionate about raising awareness and is interested in exploring research opportunities locally. Read Hannah’s story here.
