A Night to Remember: Fighting MND Together

Neale Daniher and his daughter Bec Daniher, Executive Director of Fight MND, spoke to a packed audience at Country Club Tasmania on Friday, 16 July.

We were thrilled to welcome 380 guests to the Country Club Tasmania Showroom for an unforgettable evening with Neale Daniher AO, 2025 Australian of the Year. Neale shared powerful insights on reframing life’s toughest challenges and what drives him to continue the fight, 11 years after his Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis.

Joined onstage by his daughter, Bec, the fireside chat offered a moving glimpse into their family's unwavering commitment to the Fight MND cause. Together, they spoke about legacy, purpose, and the importance of raising awareness and funding for MND research. Neale inspired us all to “Play On” to face adversity with humour, courage, and a clear sense of purpose.

We were also proud to spotlight local impact, with LGH Neurologist Dr Matthew Lee-Archer providing a valuable update on MND research supported by Clifford Craig and sharing details of new research about to commence.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our guests and local businesses, our live auction raised over $8,000 for local MND research. A heartfelt thank you to prize donors: 7Tasmania, The Plough Inn, Madeline Gordon Gallery, McDermott’s Coaches, Mark Tripp Photography, and Iron Pot Bay Vineyard.

We are also deeply grateful to our major sponsors: Real Estate Institute of Tasmania, TPT Wealth, The People Project, and Country Club Tasmania, and our event partners: King Thing Marketing, Fontyn Sports Media, LAFM, and VJAM, for helping bring this meaningful event to life.
