Garden Fete a blooming success

November 2021

The Launceston Friends of Clifford Craig Garden Fete has wrapped up for another year, with hundreds of visitors making the most of a glorious spring day in picturesque Lilydale.

Held on November 28, this year’s event took place at the beautiful country garden of Les and Sue Arnold, which proved to be the perfect setting for a day out among the roses.

Once a former cow paddock, the property has been transformed over the past four decades.

The finished result is a mature and diverse garden complete with woodland areas, perennial borders and rose beds, plus a number of special features including an aburnum arch and wisteria walk.

Along with the many flowers, the garden is also home to a number of animals including Indian Runner ducks, silkies, wyandottes, pekin chooks and many species of native birds.

Sunday’s event featured a range of stalls, live music, a tasty sausage sizzle and of course - the famous Friends of Clifford Craig Devonshire Tea.

A group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to raise money for the Foundation’s medical research program here in Northern Tasmania, the Garden Fete marks the final fundraising event for the group in 2021.

President Lyn Dent said they were thrilled with the event's attendance and thanked everyone who supported them on the day.
