Doc's daring ride for MND research

LGH Gynaecological Surgeon Dr Frank Clark is fundraising for MND research.

February 14, 2024

Launceston General Hospital Gynaecological Surgeon Dr Frank Clark will ride more than 640 kilometres later this month – all in support of Motor Neurone Disease research.

The mammoth effort is part of the PedalCure4MND initiative – a six day cycling and fundraising event organised by Fight MND.

Robyn Gloede with daughter Kate.

Dr Frank’s journey will see him take on the hilly roads of Northern Tasmania.

He said his decision to take on the challenge was galvanised by the recent MND diagnosis of his friend and colleague Robyn Gloede.

A midwife, Robyn worked alongside Frank for more than 15 years, including time at the LGH.

He is aiming to raise more than $10,000 as part of the challenge.

“It only takes a minute and any money you can give will help fund vital research into finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease,” he said.

“This ride is for Robyn.”

Frank will set off on his ride on February 28th. Donations can be made here.
