Award winners | Foundation recognised at Launceston Business Awards
March 18
The Clifford Craig Foundation is now an ‘award-winning’ organisation, with our work recognised at this year’s Launceston Chamber of Commerce Spirit Super Business Excellence Awards.
On Saturday night our team attended the Chamber’s Gala Dinner at Hotel Grand Chancellor, where we were a finalist in three categories:
Excellence in Community Service
Excellence in Health & Wellness
Building Exceptional Communities
Excitingly, we were thrilled to take home two awards - Excellence in Community Service and Excellence in Health and Wellness.
As our CEO Peter Milne put it, this recognition has been 32 years in the making, with this the first time the Foundation had submitted an entry for these esteemed awards.
Our team were incredibly proud to be named a finalist in such strong company, and feel even prouder to have taken home two winning trophies.
We think our founding members Dr John Morris and Dr Clifford Craig, whose photos hang in our boardroom [pictured above], would be very proud of how far this organisation has come since 1992.
Thank you to the Chamber for this recognition, and congratulations to all the other finalists and award winners.
The theme for this year's awards was 'Excellence, from Local to Global' and we think this encapsulates the work of the Clifford Craig Foundation pretty nicely.
In particular, our mission for the Launceston General Hospital to be recognised around the world as a centre for research excellence.
These awards are a testament to the efforts of our outgoing CEO Peter Milne, who will finish up at the Foundation in two weeks.
We are very proud of our work to improve Tasmanian health outcomes, as we expand our funding for innovative medical research, education for health professionals, medical equipment and improved patient facilities.
The Foundation's work would not be possible without the ongoing support of the community we serve, so we would like to share these awards with all the volunteers and generous supporters of the Clifford Craig Foundation.
