November 15

With less than a week to go until this year’s Point to Pinnacle event, the Parry to Pinnacle team have pulled off a successful ‘test run’ with Bryn and his new race chair - kindly donated by the Just Like Jack team.

At the weekend the team braved the wet weather, tackling the hills of Trevallyn for a two-hour run, covering almost 19 kilometres.

This Sunday, November 20 it will be the main event as the full team of 9 tackle kunanyi/Mount Wellington to raise vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease research in Tasmania.

That’s 21.1 kilometres to an elevation of 1271 metres, all while pushing Bryn in his specialised wheelchair (a combined weight of 120 kilograms).

So far more than $20,000 has been raised for the cause - with all funds going towards MND research in Northern Tasmania.

You can learn more about the Lighthouse II trial and how it is providing new hope to MND patients here.

In the meantime, here is part two of our video interview with Dr Parry.
