Let's get active | Please join us at parkrun

After 15 years, we have made the decision not to host our annual Run & Walk for Your Heart event.

However, our commitment to improving heart-health outcomes in Tasmania remains as strong as ever.

This includes encouraging our community to get active and improve their heart health.

In an effort to strengthen our reach across Tasmania's North and North-West, this year we have partnered with parkrun as part of our annual Heart Health Awareness Campaign

We invite you to join us in a 5-kilometre walk or run at your nearest parkrun event as part of an ongoing commitment to a healthier future.

Why? Well sadly, North and North-West Tasmania continues to have the worst rates of heart disease in Australia. However, up to 90% of heart disease is preventable.

Exercise is one of the best things you can do to improve your heart health. So, as the weather gets warmer and the days longer, we say there has never been a better time to commit to leading a more active lifestyle.

The event is free, inclusive and suitable for people of all fitness levels. You can choose to walk or run the 5km circuit.

If this will be your first parkrun, please make sure you have registered and read the course description before coming along.

Not from Launceston? Don't worry, there are more than 21 parkun locations across Tasmania (including 12 in the North and North-West) to choose from.

Find your nearest event here.
