Dementia talk with Dr George Razay
Dementia affects close to half a million Australians.
This number is set double in the next 25 years.
Many Tasmanians will start experiencing the impact of dementia amongst their own family and friends in the coming years.
LGH Clinical Associate Professor and geriatrician Dr George Razay will speak about dementia, it's impact on individuals, families and carers at a community talk on Friday, September 22.
Dr Razay will also touch on multi-therapies used in the treatment of the condition.
“If we are to prepare for this increase, it is vital we clear up some of the prevailing misconceptions about dementia,” he said.
The event is being held as part of Dementia Action Week (September 18-24) and take place in the LGH lecture theatre, on Level 2, starting at 1 pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
NOTE: Face masks will be mandatory for attendees.
