Loose change adds up for Christmas Appeal

Daisy Fresh Dry Cleaners owners Mathew and Tammy Bowen have raised $250 for the Clifford Craig Foundation’s Christmas Appeal by collecting loose coins found in clothes brought in for cleaning.

Do you ever leave loose change in your pocket and later find it in some unexpected places?

For the team at Daisy Fresh Professional Dry Cleaners this is a pretty common occurrence, and if they are unable to determine who the coins belong to before a clean, they put them in a tin.

It might only be 5 or 50 cents, but after a while these small amounts of change accumulate to something big and the money is donated to a worthy cause.

This year that cause was the Clifford Craig Foundation’s Christmas Appeal to secure a HALO Radiofrequency Ablation system for the Launceston General Hospital.

Daisy Fresh owners Mathew and Tammy Bowen recently presented the foundation with $250 cash, proving even the smallest gesture can add up to something big!

Recognising the value of medical research projects supported by the Foundation, Mrs Bowen said it was important to them that the funds stay within the Northern Tasmanian community.

“We always support a local charity and knowing of all the important work the Clifford Craig Foundation does, it was an obvious choice,” she said.
