Launceston General Hospital’s Christmas spirit

Launceston General Hospital's front desk receptionists Ann Clancy and Kylie Barnett in their winter wonderland.

December, 2021

If you’ve walked through the main entrance to Launceston General Hospital recently, you might have noticed the incredible Christmas display at the front reception.

But do you know who is behind it?

Ann Clancy has worked at the LGH for more than four decades and her incredible Christmas arrangements are almost as well known in the hospital as she is.

Each year Ann transforms the front reception off Charles Street into something straight out of a fairy-tale, with decorations she either makes or purchases herself.

With this year’s display inspired by the theme of ‘White Christmas’, windows have been frosted, snowflakes hang from the ceiling and a Christmas tree stands tall.

You might even be able to spot a snowman or two.

With the annual LGH Christmas Cup (a decoration competition) now in full swing – the Clifford Craig Foundation team have their work cut out for them!

Well done Ann.
