Friends' Melbourne Cup Luncheon returns

The Launceston Friends of Clifford Craig’s Melbourne Cup Luncheon will return to TasTAFE’s Drysdale Campus on Tuesday, November 1.

Now in its 30th year, tickets for this year’s event are $80 per-person and includes a pre-lunch drink on arrival and 3 course meal with coffee & tea.

A popular event on the social calendar, highlights of the day include fashions on the field, sweeps, lucky door prizes, a horse auction and of course - full coverage of all the race-day action on the big screen.

In a touching tribute, this year’s event is being held in honour of the late Toni Maloney.

Toni was the Clifford Craig Foundation’s first CEO when it was formed in 1992 and was also a long-standing president of the Launceston Friends group.

She passed away in 2021 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Friends of Clifford Craig member and event organiser Angela Medwin said the luncheon offered the community a chance to support a worthy cause, while also enjoying the spectacle of Melbourne Cup Day.

“It is always such a fun day, allowing friends to catch up and enjoy a delicious meal as well as the fun of fashion,” she said.

This event sells-out, so get in quick to avoid disappointment.

Tickets and more information on the event can be found here.
