The Importance of Medical Research
Medical research can be likened to undertaking a giant jigsaw puzzle.
Each area of research represents the piece of a puzzle that when completed realises increased knowledge and the potential for future cure or prevention. It is an intricate process that sometimes delivers exciting outcomes or at the very least provides valuable insight.
As each researcher builds upon the work of others, the “full picture” becomes clearer, another piece of the puzzle has fallen into place.
In this world of instantaneous knowledge exchange, researchers can readily share their findings, successes and failures to enable outcomes that will ultimately improve, or save the lives of many thousands of people.
