There is no such thing as an average donation because there is no such thing as an average donor.
Every donor who chooses to support us does so because he/she has decided to make a donation in support of our medical research work for unique and individual reasons.
Often these reasons are extremely personal and heartfelt. We acknowledge that this support will come to us in unique ways, just as our generous donors are each unique. The beautiful aspect to this is that every donation – no matter how large or small – adds to what others have given to make a truly unique and wonderful gift which improves the lives of our fellow Tasmanians and human beings all around the world. This is why every gift humbles us and astounds us.
Some donors like a structured form of giving: weekly, monthly or annually. Others prefer the spontaneity of making a donation and still others consider the gift for many years before making known their level of support. Some never ever tell us in their living years and the first contact we have is through a Solicitor or a Trustee acting on behalf of the donor.
The following information is included as a guide only and describes the most popular methods our supporters use to support the Clifford Craig Medical Research Trust.
How Much to Give?
We are sometimes asked the question “what are your donation levels?” or “what is the minimum/maximum I can give?”
The answer of course is that any donation helps tremendously at any level. It really does “all add up” to make a difference in the lives of others.
A great example is our Golden Coin Club which involves a $2 gold coin donation each fortnight via a staff payroll deduction scheme. We can introduce this fundraising into an office or factory or wherever there are a number of people employed and who want to help.
The members of the Golden Coin Club at the Launceston General Hospital have over the past ten years collectively donated just over $39,000, a great example of how even a relatively small amount can add up to significant research dollars.
We have other giving clubs or donations levels, they are:
• Donor: any amount up to $2,500
• 500 Club: $100 per year pledge for five years ($500 in total)
• Millennium Club: $400 per year pledge for five years ($2,000 in total)
• Jigsaw Appeal: $1,000 per year pledge for three years ($3,000 in total)
• Member status in the Trust: Gifts over $2,500
• Fellow status in the Trust: Gifts over $10,000
• Trustee status in the Trust: Gifts over $25,000
• Governor status in the Trust: Gifts over $50,000
• Bequest giving through Wills and/or insurance policies
• Gift-in-kind: gifts of property, shares, art, antiques, collections
• Sponsorship: various levels, including named research grants
If you would like to discuss on a private and confidential basis any level of support, we would be delighted to meet with you, your financial adviser or family members.
