Rural health needs analysis ($10,000)
A grant was awarded to Mrs Susie Shaw, Research Assistant attached to the Division of Community and Rural Health. This study, entitled: “Tasmanian Rural General Practitioners – A Health Needs Analysis”, involved the compilation, distribution and completion of the most extensive questionnaire yet prepared for rural GP’s.
The unique topography of Tasmania that sees more of the population living outside the capital city than within it (the reverse is true in all other Australian States and Territories) means that most Tasmanians live in designated rural areas. This study is therefore of great importance in identifying both existing, and future health needs in the State.

Tasmania's Clifford Craig Medical Research Trust was established in 1991.
